Why WIS is building an international creator baseline
Creator influence moves between countries, languages, platforms and media formats. A comedy format can begin in one market, travel through short-form video, become a long-form YouTube discussion and eventually enter podcasts, advertising and mainstream media. Tracking only a list of famous names cannot show those relationships.
The WIS Creator Authority Index therefore connects each editorial profile to countries, publishing languages, platforms and subject categories. This first Global Creator Trend Radar report establishes the baseline from which later dated reports can identify changes in the WIS research corpus.

These counts are auditable through the country index, language index, individual profiles and WordPress sitemaps. Each profile identifies an official public source and its last editorial verification date.
Signal 1: language is more useful than geography alone
Country pages explain market context, but language pages show how ideas can travel. The July baseline includes 95 English-publishing profiles, 17 Spanish-publishing profiles, nine each connected to Portuguese, Japanese and Korean, and eight each connected to Indonesian, German, French, Hindi and Filipino. Arabic currently has seven profiles.
Many creators publish in more than one language. That matters for brands and event programmers because a creator’s address does not define the full audience context. The Spanish-language collection, for example, connects profiles associated with Mexico, Spain, the United States and other markets. The English-language collection extends far beyond the United States and United Kingdom.
Signal 2: video is the strongest connector in the current research corpus
YouTube appears on 114 of the 156 profiles, while Instagram appears on 28, podcasts on 23, TikTok on 15 and streaming on nine. This does not prove that YouTube has the largest audience in every country. It shows that public, persistent video channels provide a particularly useful source layer for an editorial directory spanning many markets.
Long-form video also connects multiple creator roles: entertainers, educators, technology reviewers, interview hosts, food publishers, streamers and travel filmmakers. That breadth makes video a practical starting point for cross-market discovery while WIS continues to add responsibly sourced profiles from other platforms.
Signal 3: entertainment leads, but expertise creates commercial depth
Entertainment is attached to 62 profiles in the baseline, followed by lifestyle at 48, comedy at 30 and education at 26. Business appears on 22 profiles, while fashion and gaming each appear on 19, beauty on 17, culture on 16, interviews on 15, food on 12 and technology on 11.
For a summit, this mix is important. Broad entertainment can attract attention, while education, business, technology, finance, health and specialist media create the focused conversations that sponsors and professional audiences may need. A useful program should not confuse visibility with expertise; it should make both dimensions transparent.
Twelve international market collections now have working depth
WIS expanded the baseline with source-labeled profiles connected to Brazil, India, Mexico, Spain, France, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines. Each of these collections now contains at least eight profiles. Canada also meets the publication threshold, while the United States remains the largest collection in the current corpus.
This structure enables questions that a flat directory cannot answer: Which Nigerian creators combine technology and education? Which Brazilian profiles publish in Portuguese? Which Korean creators connect beauty, food and cross-cultural media? Which Spanish-language podcast hosts may be relevant to a New York program?
How brands, agencies and creators can use the radar
- Brands can use country, language, platform and category filters to define an initial research scope.
- Agencies can submit an authorized roster so missing profiles can enter an editorial review queue.
- Creators can claim or correct a profile using public evidence without sharing account credentials.
- Journalists can follow source links and verification dates instead of relying on an unexplained ranking.
- Summit programmers can identify combinations of markets, formats and expertise for possible panels.
Organizations needing a narrower view can request a creator market research review. A commercial request does not buy editorial inclusion, ranking position or endorsement.
Methodology and limitations
WIS profiles public creator identity, official channel links, publishing context and relevance to the creator economy. Country and language classifications describe editorial context and may include more than one market or publishing language. Profile counts are calculated from published WIS records, not scraped private dashboards.
A country or language receives a featured index page after reaching at least five published profiles. Smaller collections remain accessible for research but are marked not to be indexed until they have sufficient depth. Paid interest, event interest and sponsorship do not automatically change profile status.
Future Trend Radar reports can compare this baseline with newly verified profiles, new source-grounded articles and changing category coverage. Real platform performance metrics will be added only when they come from a lawful public source, a creator-authorized connection or a licensed dataset.
